Kinakain ba ang Globe Load mo? HASSEL DI BA?!

Yup. After the Nth time, I am finally ranting on my Cnet Asia blog. And yes I'm ranting here as well because I want to find out if this is really as widespread as our dear Senators claim to be and if it is indeed isolated to just Globe or are other Telcos just as guilty.

Here's an excerpt from my Cnet Asia blog post.
I've been a Globe and Smart prepaid user for quite a while now. The main reason I maintain two prepaid numbers is quite simple: it's cheaper to call and SMS people in the same network. Lately however, I've been using my Globe prepaid less and less due to a number of problems with the network.

First of all, the disappearing load. That has got to be the single, most inconvenient and frustrating thing ever. Me and my friends load 20 bucks to our prepaid numbers, and the second load confirmation arrives and we do a balance check (which is free thank God), there is only 15 or 17 bucks left on the account. What the hell? I was about to register for a prepaid SMS service but I never got past that part because my load was short 3 bucks. Same thing happened with my girlfriend the other day when she loaded 20 on her phone, there was only 17.50 in her account when she did a balance inquiry.

Don't believe me? Try searching through Google.
So what about you? Any prepaid load horror stories you'd like to share?

  1. Yeah, just last night and this morning. A total of 50+ pesos. I complained to Globe and they said that their system does not deduct prepaid load without (us customers) registering to any of their service. They told me they were going to report my case to the manager but until now, I haven't received what was deducted from me.

It's not really the case that they return deducted load to every customer but I wish, by now, they should have done something with this problem--especially with all these growing number of complaints.

  2. Makes one wonder kung ilang complaints na nga ang na-re-receive nila in a day... and what they actually do about it.

Binabalik ba nila yung load? If so, lahat ba? If not, what can we do para ma-prevent ito from happening?

and my next most important question... who's fault is it?

  3. I think there's a glitch in their system, so I can't say whose fault it is.

Hmm, the agent told me that they will return my load. Looks like hindi naman totoo.

I don't know how we can prevent it from happening, all I know is that they should fix their system ASAP before they lose subscribers.

  4. Nakakainis ang globe! Pero ginagamit ko pa rin. :|

Nag load ako ng 100pesos para makapagunli ng 5 days for 80pesos right? So okay na. Unli na ko. The next day hindi na ko makasend. Pagcheck ko ng balance ko, 0.50 na lang.

    Pbbffft.

  6. My balance often gets zipped. Regardless of how much I have currently loaded. That's why I rarely keep high amounts anymore, gone are the days where it was more economical to load cards. >.<

  7. Damn! that happened to me after loading my 300php Globe. 2 days after, it went down to 73php. 2 Sulitxt (30php total) pa lang nagagamit ko. XC

  9. There was a comment on my CNET blog about him having more problems with Smart prepaid as compared to Globe. And he also claims that his SIMs are years old and that in his area in Bicol there seems to be no problems with Globe load, only Smart...

Now I'm beginning to wonder, is this an area-related case? Are there more cases of the problem in Metro Manila than in the provinces? Or does the age of the SIM have anything to do with it? Are the newer SIMs less prone or more prone to load disappearances?

Someone commented in my Plurk too that one way to check for your load problems is to call customer support and see if your number is subscribed to any CP service, etc... and then to ask them to manually remove you... maybe that can help for the meantime.

I haven't had any problems with Smart in the odd number of months I've been using mine. But Globe has been terrible over the past months... always losing load without warning.

  10. there it goes again.. i loaded up 50 bucks, after 3 or so text messages over a span of a few hours, i got 0 load again..

    it's like i donated 47 bucks..

even if the scale is much smaller, let's say 3 pesos.. when done on a larger number, let's say 100,000 subscribers, that's 300,000 pesos instant profit.. for a million subscribers, that's 3 million in one day..

how many subscribers do they have again?

even if you lower it to 1 peso lost each day, it's still a substantial amount, given these telecoms have millions of subscribers on the prepaid network..

and they're doing this because most likely, 99 out of 100 people will say.. "eh piso lang naman yun, mag complain pa ba ako?"

i'm not even counting those who don't notice.. coz seriously, do you track your text messages peso-by-peso?

  11. Nabalita na yung nakakain ng load sa TV... consumers have filed a case against the Telcos (Smart, Globe, Sun)

What do you think will happen?

  12. Same thing that always happens in this godforsaken country.

    Absolutely nothing.

The next big issue will come out, and soon everything will be behind us with no resolution whatsoever.
