Haaayz... ibang tao talga hindi maka-GETS!

Here's my latest CNET blog. I wrote about how Friendster is still the number one freaking social networking site in the Philippines despite the rapid growth of Facebook.

And this one guy JUST DOESN'T GET IT. Lol. (Read the blog comments. Sigh)

Anyway my last reply to him was funneee.

I said, and I quote:

Anyway, as is with any online enterprise, a lot of what's going on in the site is because of the audience it has... and like what imageguru mentioned in her comment, FS is, demographically speaking, your DE audience. That's where FS gets its numbers from, so regardless of how vastly superior FB is in terms of web features, FS is doing something right because they're still keeping their audience, and still keeping them happily active.

Along that line of thought... I wonder what would happen if Willie Revillame tells his viewers to add him on Facebook? Or to play Mafia Wars with him? Is there a Wowowee Facebook App in the works?

Lol.

So what do you think? Now that Multiply has declined the top spot to Facebook, will Facebook be able to topple Friendster? Is everyone playing Mafia Wars? Restaurant City? Farm Town?

What's this Fascination with Celebrity Bloggers? O_O

Wrote about blogging eklavu again in my Cnet blog (hmmm blogging about blogging... IS THERE NOTHING SACRED?!). Anyway, was linked to Miriam Quiambao's Blog and then got me thinking of all the local celebs that have been making the rounds already.

Here's an excerpt:

With Filipino internet users displaying the highest affinity towards social media, it's no wonder that well-known personalities--from showbiz and entertainment to politics--are also making appearances in social networks, blogs and more. Just today a new celebrity blog was linked by DigitalFilipino's Janet Toral via Plurk... former Bb. Pilipinas Ms. Miriam Quiambao! And a few weeks back, possible presidential hopeful Mar Roxas added me on FaceBook!

Hope you drop by my Cnet blog and leave a comment. Or not. Wahtevar. Blogging about blogging... that's just genius.

Look ma, I'm on TV! ^_^;;

Hey folks! In case you're not doing anything tom morning around 10AM, I'll be interviewed by TJ Manotoc and co. in their morning show, Tech Talk over at ANC.

The interview segment will be about Universal McCann's Wave 3 Study on Social Media... sounds boring? Actually, I'll be talking about Filipinos uploading 1M photos everyday in Multiply, about the 12M or 2-point-something Filipino users in Friendster traffic daily,  about the more than 30% increase in blog readership in the Philippines over the past year and about the 9 out of 10 Filipinos online who watch Moymoy Palaboy.

Hope you guys can watch! ^_^
