Ateneo now outranks UP, though both schools made huge improvements from last year’s result.

Which is why I was saying... the greenies should focus on more important matters, and not such trivial things like 'a little bonfire'.

ReplyDeleteNung panahon ko it was already "in implementation mode". Dunno now what happened to it. I remember we even had online reservations... take note "reservation" not registration. Hahaha.

so why stay? can you blame them for leaving? brain drain is the result
yet UP's tuition rises despite public funding. can't expect to get a rolls royce when you can only pay for a picanto

Hi, that's the same argument that AdMU gave when DLSU ranked higher (by a few numbers) than AdMU did last year. :)

ReplyDeleteI agree with you in any case. Most people, like me, would probably just accept the results considering it did come from a 'reputable' source. But truer than true, if it was us on the maligned end, we'd do the digging as well.
That makes me wonder now, because in the discussions in Plurk, a lot of people were claiming that UP decided not to participate in the survey... that being said is that the main reason UP dropped and DLSU almost disappeared entirely?
Sigh, it's a bad thing because it takes me forever to react to something, lol.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking along the same lines. Assuming that it's true that the respondent base was indeed skewed by a lack of UP respondents, I don't really think it mattered (except to DLSU) since you can no longer select your own institution.
Sample group issues aside, the remaining 60% of the weight is drawn from other factors like Employer review, research performance vs research body size, faculty citations, etc. Things have gotten better since our time eh?
